HE Choeje Ayang Rinpoche's visit to the Sumthrang Monastery

His Eminence Choeje Ayang Rinpoche the living master of phowa visited Sumthrang Monastery on April 14th with his family on pilgrim.
While on his pilgrim, Rinpoche also blessed the poeple of the village with oral transmission of the choe-long-trul sumgi zung-nag, the mantaras of loard Amitabha, Avalokiteshvara, and the Guru Rinpoche.
His Eminence, Chojey Rinpoche also offered truesol to the nangtens the sacred relics of the Sumthrang monastery founded by one of the great scholars and main disciples of Drikung Gigten Goenpo, Nyo Gyelwa Lhanangpa.

Rinpoche, was requested for another visit to the monastery in future to bless the people and valley with his teachings of Phowa by the Sumthrang's current incumbent Chejey Lam Jamtsho to which Rinpoche said that he should see.
Rinpche after spending few hours in the monastery was also invited to the middle secondary school of Ura, where he gave a tutelary speech for the teachers and students.

Ayang Rinpoche is considered to be the world’s living Phowa master. A lineage-holder of both the Nyingma and Drikung Phowa he continues the unbroken line of succession of the Drikung Phowa lamas from Buddha Vajradhara.
Ayang Rinpoche was born into a nomadic family in eastern Tibet. A delegation of high lamas , including the Sixteenth Gyalwang Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje and Yongzin Jabra Rinpoche, concluded that he was the wisdom incarnation of Terton Rigzin Choegyal Dorje.
